Editor of Revista UFO magazine, Ademar José Gevaerd (19/03/1962 – 09/12/2022) was founder and president of the Brazilian Center for Research on Flying Saucers (CBPDV), and became interested in ufological research as a teenager. He abandoned his profession as a chemistry teacher in the mid-1980s to dedicate himself exclusively to Ufology, and in 1985 he published his first magazine, Ufologia Nacional e Internacional.
Still in 1985, he launched the Revista UFO magazine, a publication that brought together a good part of the cream of Brazilian ufology researchers, which has been published for over 30 years. He published several UFO books by different authors, Brazilians and foreigners, about various topics within ufology. It has also organized several UFO events over the years, including the World UFO Forum.
Gevaerd was for many years the National Director Emeritus of MUFON in Brazil, being its biggest encourager in the country.
He was also, together with Marco Antonio Petit, who brought Captain Uyrangê Hollanda and the events of Operation Prato to the public and was one of the greatest researchers of crop circles in Brazil and in the world.
Gevaerd was one of the greatest ufologists of all time. Thanks to him, Brazilian ufology gained enormous prominence all over the world.
