Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC-01) and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) are preparing to lead UAP transparency hearings this November to increase transparency and legislative oversight in this evolving area. Congresswoman Mace, scheduled to chair the House Oversight Committee’s hearing on November 13, has underscored the importance of government accountability and public access to credible UAP information. This hearing will examine the government’s protocols and intentions regarding UAP sightings and address national security and transparency questions. We anticipate hearing from vital new witnesses to help further solidify and confirm that the public is not getting the whole truth.
Senator Gillibrand’s upcoming Senate hearing will also focus on UAP transparency but from a defense and national security perspective. Gillibrand has long advocated for public accessibility to UAP information and supported protective measures for witnesses willing to testify. She has emphasized that “public trust in government requires an honest approach to these sightings and the security implications surrounding them.” Senator Gillibrand will announce the date of this hearing to the public shortly, and it will follow Congresswoman Maces.
These November hearings represent a significant step toward ensuring that the public remains informed on UAP-related matters while addressing safety and regulatory gaps within the current reporting framework. This push aligns with the bipartisan effort to increase government transparency, protect those who come forward and clarify public knowledge about UAP phenomena. MUFON will continue to update you all on this continuing conversation and will continue to advocate for MUFON to be seen as the civilian reporting arm.
