An oval-shaped object was seen flying in the sky over eastern Seoul at daybreak yesterday, causing witnesses to wonder if it was a spacecraft from another planet.

Different from unsubstantiated sightings of unidentified flying objects (UFO) before, the bright object, this time, according to many residents who saw it, appeared in the sky at 7:20 a.m. and stayed there for about 10 minutes before flying southward.

The entire episode was captured by a cameraman of cable news channel YTN in an ENG camera used for broadcast purposes.

A UFO expert said that the flying pattern of the object was exactly like that of the flying object sighted last year in Korea. "The object first moved slowly, then turned 180 degrees and flew away, leaving distinct after../../images - the same pattern of flight as that patched together by witnesses to earlier UFO sightings,'' he said.

"We may have to bring in foreign experts to hear their opinion on thefrequent sightings of spacecraft from outer space here,'' he said. Meanwhile, it was confirmed that there were no military or civilian aircraftflying in the area at the time when the object was allegedly sighted."We are working to determine what the object was,'' a military spokesman said.

Since late last year, an unidentified object has been sighted on two occasions arousing public interest about UFO and visitors from outer space. A UFO society in Korea has held discussions, photo exhibitions and film showings on UFOs, increasing people's curiosity about them.
